Frequently asked questions

How does the grant eligibility matcher work?
The matcher asks you five questions about your organization type, location, focus area, special eligibility characteristics, and funding need. It then searches our grant database for opportunities that match your answers and shows you the results — no account required.
Are these results guaranteed to be grants I can apply for?
No. The matcher narrows down grants that appear relevant based on the structured data in our database, but every grant has its own eligibility requirements. Always verify eligibility directly with the funder before investing time in an application.
Do I need an account to use the matcher?
No account is required to run the matcher or view results. You need a free account only if you want to save your results and receive email alerts when new matching grants are added.
Can I share my matched results?
Yes. All your answers are encoded in the URL, so you can bookmark or share the link at any step — including the results page — and anyone with the link will see the same search.
How often is the grant database updated?
Federal grants from Grants.gov are updated daily. Foundation and state grants are updated on varying schedules depending on the source. Every grant page shows the last verified date so you can judge freshness.
What if none of the focus areas match my work?
Skip Step 3 or select the closest match. You can always adjust your search from the results page using the full filter panel, which includes all available focus areas.
